He found the perfect spot in a garden in the heart of Philadelphia to get down on a knee and ask her for forever. Not that Andrew’s eternal love isn’t enough to make Heather say yes, but just in case, he did sweeten the deal with one heck of a rock!
Nearly two years later, again Heather and Andrew found themselves in a garden in the heart of Philadelphia, only this time it was in a white gown and suit with about 100 of their dearest friends. Everything was just perfect and exactly how Heather had meticulously planned it to be. The flowers were soft shades of pink to match the bows on the bridesmaids’ grey dresses and the groomsmen’s ties. A small cake atop a tree of gluten-free cupcakes. Pink bows on the dining room chairs. A DJ setup in the garden to welcome their guests. Everything was set.
Now, a sidebar… Anyone who has been around a wedding or two can attest that on your wedding day, something will go wrong. It could be a rainstorm on your outdoor wedding or a big giant pimple right in the middle of your forehead. But the laws of physics guarantee that something will go wrong. (Disclaimer: my day job is a Biochemist, not a Physicist, but I’m pretty sure I remember this lesson from college Physics).
Congratulations to Heather & Andrew!
So on this perfectly warm June day with just enough clouds to make this photographer happy and not a single blemish on the bride, I thought maybe- just maybe Heather was one of the lucky few who get their entire day off without a disaster. And then, I see the grumblings…. A few frantic bridesmaids whipping around. A groom pacing on the phone.
It seems that a concerned phone call from the trolley driver who had driven the wedding party found a nice loose diamond on the floor while cleaning. Of course, it was that rock Andrew gave to Heather. Those stinking physics laws! After an emergency trip to the jeweler and a 15 minute delay to the ceremony, Heather -with that beautiful rock back in its rightful home- walked down the aisle in her dream garden ceremony to marry the love of her life.
Congratulations to Heather & Andrew!
